DIY Salt Scrub

You can buy salt scrubs for $30, or you can make your own salt scrubs at home for a fraction of the cost. Salt scrubs are one of the easiest home spa products to make and a great gift if you put it in a pretty jar. With this easy salt scrub recipe, you can exfoliate your skin at home instead of paying $90 or more for a salt glow at the spa. This salt scrub was a family recipe  and traditionally used by fishermen to help heal and soothe hands after a hard day’s work. This well kept fishermen's secret not only soothes hands but also rids pesky smells that may linger. Passed down for generations, this salt scrub recipe uses the power of nature to sooth and exfoliate leaving your skin feeling like silky smooth. So I am going to show you how to leave your hands and body smooth, rejuvenating and youthful. Most of these items should be in your home because they are very common household items so no need to make a extra trip to the supermarket, you may need to buy a Mason jar to seal in the freshness or any type of jar with a lid will do, or you can even use a bowl if you desire.

Epsom salt, table salt, sea salt or any kind of salt will due for this. After selecting your preferred salt choice place in a jar and fill with salt, leave some space for mixing.

Next choose Oil to mix with your salt, and again you can choose any type of oil ranging from Almond oil, Olive oil, Jojoba oil, Peanut oil and you may even use vegetable oil. Just  stay away from Baby Oil because it will clog your pores and it has a lot of petroleum in it which you want to avoid.

Now for the fun part: Mix your salt and oil to make a thick consistency, you dont want to have too much oil in your scrub that will over power your salt so just add about a third of a cup of oil at a time to reach the consistency you want to achieve. Scrub should be a thick consistency with  the oil moisturized inside the salts without being too runny, you'll want it to be creamy and you'll want more salt to oil.

Next choose a scent to your scrub that suits your taste like: Peppermint, Orange, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Lavender. You can even use extracts like vanilla extract or teatree extract. After choosing your scent add about two teaspoons to your scrub and mix.

Place in your Jar and Enjoy!! For a extra pop decorate your Jar by adding sea shells or Ribbon or any creative ideas you may have!!

Here is the proper way to start using your salt scrub and reap the benefits it has to offer and get your spa treatments right at home for the fraction of the cost:
  1. Soak skin in warm bath or shower for a few minutes to open pores and soften the top layer of your skin
  2. Put body scrub on your palm and gently rub over your skin in a circular motion
  3. Rinse and don’t use any shower gel or soap – it is good to keep the oil and aromatics on your skin
  4. Apply your favorite body lotion and enjoy your exceptionally soft, glowing skin! You will feel pampered and relaxed.

Hope you all Enjoy this is easy to do DIY salt scrub!!! Bye Loves! :)
