♥ Summer Must-have Nail Colors ♥

This years obsession for nail polish has only gotten stronger and funner and the trends for this year are so fun and playful and also chic and feminine. Even with the weak economy in America women still go out and purchase all of the latest trends and must-haves because all of us want to look and feel our best, and strut our stuff in Style!!

This years nail polish has dramatically shifted from Bright Neon hues to metallics, ombre nails, chic corals, mellow yellows and soft pastels to soft pretty wearable nudes and creamy beiges. So without further adue I will take you beyond the nail shelves and show you some of this years hottest colors and brands,  and list dupes for cheaper polishes for those of us on a price friendly budget...which frankly I think we all are. I will also showcase my favorite summer polishes as well and show you a few nail tricks I've learned!!

One of the most popular trends this year has been NEONS!! They are Fun and bright and eye-catching and certainly not boring, and as the famous icon Marilyn Monroe once said "Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”  and with that said doesnt it just make you want to jump on the Neon Band Wagon?

The popular brand OPI has great collections and was one of the first brands to come out with a neon color collection as well as China Glaze. This collection by OPI Outrageous Neons retails for $19.95 a little pricey I know but you get six polishes including a white base coat to make the polishes vivid and brighter as well as a shiny top coat and four Statement making shades:  Ridiculousy Yellow, Formidably Orange, Riotously Pink, and Seriously Purple. With all six shades your only paying about $3.32 for each polish which is a great price for OPI polishes which roughly retail for around $8.00 and you can create endless designs with these polishes from ombre to color blocking to marble nails. A great neon dupe for OPI neons is Sally Hansens Extreme Wear in Crushed which retails for around $1.99

The next trend of nail polishes I'm going to talk about is Chic Corals which are always fun and girly and China Glaze leads the way in fun coral colors. One of the most popular coral colors is China Glaze's shade in Naked. Naked is  a beautiful feminine peachy soft color by China Glaze. The color is a bit sheer so you will need a few coats to build up the intensity. Another great China Glaze coral color is Dress me up the color is a bit of a dusty rose color but fits in the coral family It’s a creamy color with a soft delicate nature and beautiful for daily wear. High Hopes and Peachy Keen are also great coral colors by China Glaze.

A nice coral dupe is NYC's Central Park for only $2.99 in drug stores. The formulation of the NYC nail polishes are actually  Great! The brush isn't too big or small, and I didn't find the nail polish to be streaky or bubbly. With a couple of coats your  nails are going to look stunning. The great thing about corals is that they look great with short or long nails.

The Next  Must-Have Nail Color for Summer are Soft Pastels. essie makes great pastels for summer. With pastels you can find any kind of brand and price range because pastels do very good every summer year to year and never seem to go out of style. They are easy to wear and very wearable and virtually go with any outfit and are a must-have in any women's nail collection. A very beautiful High-end nail pastel color is Chanel's Riva. My favorite pastel color is from essie in limo-scene that is obviously a bit more affordable then Chanel's Riva.  The picture directly above shows limo-scene at it's best. The color is a sheer pastel pink perfect for french manicures and can also be in the nude color family as well. Another stunning pastel shade is essie's Lapiz of luxury retailing for $8.00. The color is a beautiful soft taupey blue shade which is shown in the picture on the right and is a picture I personally took and I'm actually wearing today! A nice dupe for pastels is Sally Hansens complete salon manicure line in Barely Blue Bell.  Shown above which is a lovely turquoise shade and reminds me alot of essies turquoise & caicos.

Last but not least is Nudes!!! Nudes are personally my favorite nail polish shades. They are so pretty and chic not to mention ultra feminine and sexy. They take a big shift from the metallics and neons but they definitely hold  there own and pack a powerful punch! essies Be Right Bag is a beautiful nude shade, and nude shades work very well with short nails. I also favorite essies innocence shown above. essies not just a pretty face is also a great choice. There are endless nudes from essie as well as others like china glaze, OPI, Revlon just to name a few. I personally favorite Essie for nudes because I think they do a wonderful job on they're nude shades. I really like Revlon's new shade in Elegant and the price is very affordable and makes a nice dupe for essie's nude shades retailing for about $4.00 compared to essies $8.00. So if your looking for a beautiful shade for summer a nice nude wont let you down!!

Nail Tips and Tricks: A great nail tip I like to do is sticking to a schedule, that might seem a little odd to some people but I find it keeps my nails healthy, beautiful and always upkept great. On wendnesday and sunday nights I give my nails a nice manicure by filing them down, massaging my cuticles and apply my favorite base coat and nail color.

My ALL TIME favorite Base coat and Top coat is Sally Hansen Continuos treatment Base and Top coat Shown above. I am loyal to this product for many reasons and first is I can save space instead of breaking out base and top coat bottles I have this all in one product which saves me time and space on my nail rack and I just use this ONE bottle for both steps. A great Bonus to this product is the fact that when I use this as a top coat I have NO CHIPPING for at least two weeks!! NO JOKE girls no chipping. At first I was skeptical because I always hear about top coats that dont chip and its always not true, but when I tried this the first time and i had no chipping with my OPI Cajun Shrimp and Sally Hansens Blue me away I was utter amazement!! It works girls and I'm not sponsored or getting paid by anyone I just know this product works and does what it says....So go run out and try it!! :)

Another great nail tip is Q-tips which might be kind of basic to most people but I swear by the bigger precision tips. They work wonders and if I get a little messy I can wipe the sides of my nails off clean and easy. For removing old nail polish I use these as well. They are bigger and soak up alot of nail polish remover and make doing your nails a quick process.

Hope all of you enjoyed my Blog piece and Have a GREAT day and remember Confidence is key and if you don't have it 'Fake it till you Make it'   :)   xoxo
